About the Artist – I paint local landscapes in acrylics. I was raised in coastal southwest Oregon, which is a painter’s heaven, with its ocean, rivers, mountains, and lush forests. I prefer realism-impressionism; foregrounds are highly detailed but fade into impressionistic backdrops.
My passion is to create “I wish I was there” paintings of local scenes, often easily recognizable but also sometimes the special secret spots I’ve found through fishing, camping, and backpacking.
What do I mean by “I wish I was there” art? Simply that. My paintings should take you there . . . and have you thinking, “I wish I was there.”
