Magda Druzdzel at Brian Scott Gallery Brookings Second Saturday Art Walk October 13th
Curry Arts member Magda Druzdzel will be featured at the Brian Scott Gallery as part of the October 13th Brookings Second Saturday Art Walk. Magda will discuss her work and will be available to meet with visitors at 4:30 p.m.

Curry Arts Member Sharon Guinn will present a Doodle Design Workship on October 15th. Zentangle is a fun art form that takes line and shapes to make abstract form. Students will use these qualities of line and shape to design a piece of art that will have the student’s artistic fingerprint throughout. Students, start looking through magazines for the shapes and art forms that inspire you…maybe something for the holidays. Start a file for ideas for the workshop. It is fun and will exercise your creative skills, as you draw and doodle through your project.

Time: 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Cost: $25
Materials to bring to class:
1) Bristol board paper or watercolor paper ¼ sheet. Bring 2.
2) Black ink micro pen. Fine line .50 or smaller.
3) Waterproof ink .
4) #2 Pencil. Good soft gum eraser.
5) Ruler
6) Colored pencil…to add color if desired.
7) Paper Smudger for shadowing work.

Free Getting Started Workshop: Illustrating a Children’s Book with Jack Wiens

Have fun learning about children’s book illustration and publishing from Ashland artist Jack Wiens on August 25th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in the new Learning Center at Curry Public Library.
Jack will facilitate a workshop on children’s book illustration demonstrating how to approach drawing figures in the environment for children’s literature. He will demonstrate basic drawing skills with a discussion of the materials he uses.
Participants will have the opportunity to create their own characters, so be sure to collect photos of pets, children, plants and animals to provide inspirational references so you can give it a try!
This workshop is FREE and open to the public, however space is limited.
